Advanced Quality Water Jet Cutting, LLC

Waterjet cutting technology is a method of precision cutting that may be applied to any material type. The cutting action is from highly pressurized water concentrated down to a very fine stream. In most cases, fine garnet is also in the water stream to improve the cutting action. See our photos section for a view of the water stream.

Cutting is “cold” and can be employed to cut steel, wood, titanium, copper, inco, stone, glass, plastic, rubber, aluminum and many other materials.

Waterjet is a burr-free process; however, a sharp edge is created. The edge quality can range from very smooth looking like a glass-bead surface about 63 RMS to a rough finish that shows striation caused by the water and garnet mixture resulting in about 250 RMS depending on the thickness of the material being cut and its’ hardness.

Waterjet is environmentally friendly, using tap water and sand; both of which can be recycled.

Waterjet is economical. Regarding price, waterjet can compete with plasma, EDM, laser and sawing processes.
